More Produce

Yesterday's delivery from Door to Door Organics included some things I don't normally buy.

I can't tell you the last time I bought a Butternut Squash.  What the heck is Rapini or a Pinova Apple or a Concorde Pear?  I'll just have to investigate on the web and find a good way to use everything up.

Having fresh produce dropped on your porch is the easiest way to make eating healthy a habit.

I'm so jealous!! I joined a CSA this year (it's winding down), but the schlep out to the farm every week got a bit onerous after awhile. Here in Philly, we don't have this kind of door-to-door produce service.
Broccoli rabe is delicious quickly sauteed with garlic and olive oil.
Pears are always delicious poached in milk or wine in the oven.
Butternut squash (baked or microwaved first so you don't cut yourself peeling it) is delicious in soup with sage (fresh if available)and leeks and cream.
Enjoy!!! XXO-

Wow, that all looks so yummy. Maybe next season I can sign up for this.
