Even in tough times people can reach down deep and find a way to help others who are less fortunate. I did my first bell ringing stint today for the Salvation Army and by the end of my 2 hour shift my kettle was full. I have a new tool for stuffing money down into the little criss-crossed opening in the kettle top -- I use the temples from my sunglasses -- perfect for shoving money all the way down into the kettle. Plus, I can do it without having to remove my gloves.
Today's weather was beautiful with sunshine and a high temperature around 39º. I have three more bell ringing stints coming up and while I'm fairly certain I won't be so lucky when it comes to weather from now on I can hope......
