Time sure does fly....

....when you're having fun.

I started this blog entry about 7 hours ago and look -- just now getting it down on the keyboard.

I finished my hoodie tunic sweater and I have to say -- I love it!

I used Cascade 128 Tweed for it and it was a great yarn -- bulky enough for size 7 needles (that would be size nine for most of you!).  I enjoyed the pattern from Diane Soucy, Knitting Pure and Simple, and would definitely make it again -- what's not to like about top-down patterns?!  Even Kevin said I should make more of these -- high praise from someone who normally just nods or says 'great' without ever looking up.  About the only thing I would change is the button on the placket -- it's so small it's really not usable.

I started the new year by burying some ends this morning and sewing down the casing for the hood.  I used the Knit Klips I bought several years ago but never got around to using.  I LIKE them a lot.  Definitely good for holding  your work in place while you're seaming.

After steaming the hood I used the klips to mark 3 stitches in from the edge so I could make the casing for the hoodie cord.

And here's a closeup of the clip at work ~~

I am so glad to be done with this sweater.  I started it back in March but had to set it aside while I knit for shows.  I can't wait to wear it.

I'm back to working on my Thai Vest pattern -- writing it as I go -- YIKES!!

I spent 3 hours at Mom's today, fixing her computer (yes, those Microsoft Updates ARE important) and getting her new camera software loaded.  We ordered a camera case from Canon and she should get it next week.  My sister Renee and hopefully her son Andrew will be visiting Mom tomorrow and can get her SD card formatted and show her how to get the pictures from her camera to the computer or printer.  Hint, hint.

Mom had made a pot of French Canadian Pea Soup, which I love, but as usual, did not get nearly enough.  I'm heading down to Eastern Market tomorrow morning to buy myself more peas with which to make soup.  I'll get some more for Mom too.  Anyone else need some??

Love the hoodie and I'm a tweedie nut so I think the yarn is awesome.
I have those knit klips but have noy used them yet. Glad to see they will be helpful in my future projects.

The sweater turned out really nice!! It's good to finish! Pea soup sounds good; what makes it 'French Canadian'? Do you use different peas? Have fun!!!

Suz,
Took the Hint, hint. Lauren, Andrew and I all visited with Mom today. We also had delicious French Canadian pea Soup. Yum.
The SD card didn't appear to require formatting, Andrew got it to work without it, so I think she is all set. The printer is another mystery though. Between the paper loading problems and the tempermental color ink cartridge..dunno.I think she's going to Staples to see "her guy" to assist. She is also talking about a new Canon printer.
Who knows?!?
More for next time I guess.
Happy New Year!
Renee
