Distractions

I started working on my new quilted jacket first thing this morning.  I cut out the pattern pieces, the Pellon fusible fleece, and the lining.  Next I fused the fleece to the lining pieces, pinned the two front panels and the back to the fused pieces and started to quilt.  I did straight line quilting on the sleeves with my walking foot.
When it came time to quilt the other pieces I stopped, poured through some books for inspiration and then got back to work.  I finished both front panels before getting interrupted by a headhunter on the phone.  I sent her my résumé, found another job to send my résumé off to, then returned to my project.

But then it was time for dinner.  Time for some online games.  Time to watch the news.  Time to call my Mom.  Next thing I knew, it was time to clean up and watch the Tigers baseball game.

So this is as far as I got today, finished front panel and pinned back:

I'm still thinking about how I'm going to put all the pieces together.  The pattern calls for exposed seams but I'm thinking not.  I'm also rethinking the quilting on the sleeves.  Maybe instead of straight lines I should have done curvy lines, like the front panels.  I'll sleep on that one.

Yesterday I wrote that I had made a great pot of Potato Leek Soup and here it is:

It was delicious with a cup of fresh cider --- mmmmm, mmmmm, good!
