One more thing on my to-do list...

Well, now I've done it.  Gone and created a blog.  Like so many others in the world I expect someone to actually read this and gain something from it.  Even if it's only a bit of insight or inspiration or a chuckle for the day.  I'll be chatting about things I know -- family, hobbies, work, wine, hobbies - did I say that already?!  It's not as though I needed to add one more thing to my plate.  I lead a plenty busy life already but I'm hoping this blog will keep me on task.

Let's see.....there are 17 weeks left until my daughter gets married - yikes!  I've been working on reducing my weight since last year and have managed to lose 27 pounds.  No fancy diets or pills -- just strong will and applying what most of us already know -- calories in/calories out.  I joined a gym last April and that has made all the difference.  I jot down my measurements on the first of each month so tomorrow will be another chance to track my progress.

I bought a dress for the wedding but it needs a wrap or shawl of some sort.  Since the dress is an eggplant color I'm thinking of keeping the item I'll be knitting in that color family.  Here's a picture of the dress, hanging so nicely on the back of my bathroom door :

Amazingly enough it's a petite and may not need to be shortened (hmm, did I forget to mention I'm 4'10"!).  This is highly unusual for me.  It was on the clearance rack at Macy's -- what a stroke of luck!!  However, I have NO intention of buying all of the foundation pieces the saleslady recommended.  More time in the gym should suffice, although I'll still need a strapless bra.  My first one believe it or not.  How did I ever get to be this old and never need one?

Well, this is a pretty good start.  More tomorrow.....

I really like the color of the dress, it's one of my favorites. And I think it's going to look great on you, too.

And, ofcourse, congratulations for the new blog! Your blogging voice already sounds really nice and warn. I bet you're a really kind person in real life too :)
